HISTORY OF CARDIOTHORACIC SURGERY

Cardiothoracic surgery, as we know it today, is a relatively new specialty. This section on the history of cardiothoracic surgery is here to help you appreciate the immeasurable contributions of the many men and women who have made cardiothoracic surgery what it is today. While we believe everyone who has ever contributed to a cardiothoracic surgical procedure, from the 'runners' to the consultant surgeon, and all in between, deserve a mention, practically, that would be impossible.

This history is brief and does not tell the whole story. If you would like to know more you can visit any, or all, of our sources used.
